Phormium ‘Rubra’ is one of the older cultivars of South Africa Flax with a good track record for hardiness. It has a graceful arching habit and a forms a cascade of narrow, strong bronze foliage. The intensity will vary from position and soil type so choose companion plants carefully to avoid, or induce, color clashes! Best in sun with a moist soil. Sometimes seen listed as Phormium tenax 'Rubra'.
