(Also known as Hedyotis) This adorable little plant forms a low creeping mat of tiny green leaves, smothered by tiny blue star flowers in late spring. This is an easy rock garden plant for acidic conditions, where it will even self-sow. Also perfect for between flagstones and as a groundcover. Prefers evenly moist soil and acidic conditions. Beautiful with spring-blooming bulbs of all sorts, especially when used to carpet below daffodils or tulips. Easily divided in spring or early fall by digging up the clump and ripping apart into small pieces.
