Breynia disticha belongs to the spurge (Euphorbiaceae) family and is native to the Pacific Islands and is a highly ornamental evergreen shrub that is grown for its beautiful foliage. The leaves of 'Roseopicta' are mottled pink, rose, white and green, and 'Alba' has variegated white and green leaves. The white markings on the leaves make this tropical plant look like it has been dusted with snow, hence its common name. The inconspicuous greenish flowers are hidden amongst the leaves and are followed by small white, red or black berries.
