Cape Bebeco trees are in full bloom by the end of winter. Apricots are ready for harvest during the first weeks of summer. Cape Bebeco is a good dessert apricot and great for canning.
Propagation
Cuttings
Take semi-hardwood cuttings in the growing season. Plant in a good draining soil and keep moist until fully rooted. Commercially apricot trees are budded on a seedling when young.
Seed
Seeds can be sown at a depth of 1.5 cm in 15 cm pots. Germination takes a month or 2. Seeds do not breed true to type and need to be grafted to remain the same cultivar and characteristics.
