Crassula ovata “Red Edge’ is an excellent container plant and is proudly South African. It makes a true waterwise garden specimen with its green oval shaped leaves and distinct red edge. These leaves are able to store water for drought periods making these shrubs extremly hardy. Crassula ovata ‘Red edge’ enjoy a full sun position. They are wind and sea salt spray hardy making them good coastal gardening specimens. They make for perfect autumn flowering colour in a garden as light pink, highly scented flowers appear from May to June. In the Far East, Germany and the USA this plant is known as the ‘Money plant’ or ‘Dollar tree’. They are traditionally grown in square; lion footed pots and handed to business associates and friends to bring financial good luck.
